The days are getting shorter
It’s a bitter dying light
As the final fly of summer
Takes a lonely winter flight
The things that once were lively
Are slowly finding death
The visitors are leaving
On the next train headed west
the coming days loom frigid
For the warmth forsaken soul
The closing theme is playing
In the lonely winter cold
Maybe some fine morning
Spring will come again
Till then darkness rules the winter
Goodbye to you my friend

A poem for the start of cold weather...

Eccentric that I am, I saw a fly in here in the middle of this past winter and said out loud "What are you doing in here little guy?" This reminded me of that. It sure paints a clear picture of the feeling the beginning of winter evokes.
That's exactly what i saw when i wrote this one...One tired and lonely fly in late December.
