the worst day

i thought that with time you would recede into the past
but every little memory of you was built to last
i could run a million miles away and you'd be there
i wish that i could lie and say that i no longer care

i'm remembering the worst day of my life
and you were there
you gave to me the worst day of my life
i didn't have a prayer
i just want to find a way to change the way i feel
but the shadows of the worst day of my life
come through too clear

they tell me that time can heal all wounds and fade the pain
but still a thought of you is more than strong enough to bring the rain
there was never gonna be a chance for you to be that way
waiting on a world i used to know that burned away

I'm remembering the the worst day of my life
and you were there
you gave to me the worst day of my life
i didn't have a prayer
i just want to find a way to change the way i feel
but the shadows of the worst day of my life
come through too clear

untitled rant

the world ain't turning your way
someone else is always in control
they got what they got
from who they know
you want to make a difference
lay it on the line
but you play the same song over
every time

there's nothing wrong with your world
except your whine
there's no one receiving you now
it's the same old sign
it's all them bad debbils fault
(you say) someone should give them a fine
there's nothing wrong with your world
except your whine

The world would tear you to pieces
troublemakers break all the rules
they go to extremes
to step on your toes
you want to call the office
put an end to their lies
so you play the same song over
every time

there's nothing wrong with your world
except your whine
there's no one receiving you now
it's the same old sign
it's all them bad debbils fault
(you say) someone should give them a fine
there's nothing wrong with your world
except your whine

seven seas

I guess it's time to abandon this ship

rather than be shunned by the masses

i will search elsewhere

kingdom come and then kingdom go

the next trip i take the destination home

is what i'll do

and i don't need seven seas

i just need the keys

and then i'm gone

i don't need the ocean blue

all i really need is you

and you're not here

i guess it's time i undo all the locks

set me free to find second chances

i will be going

highway up and then highway down

the one i'll take is known to me

that's what i'll do

and i don't need seven seas

i just need the keys

and then i'm gone

i don't need the ocean blue

all i really need is you

and you're not here

starlit night

It was a voice that I heard on a starlit night
As I shed bitter tears all alone
All the things that it said
Rumbled ‘round in my head
And I listened as truth overflowed
What was not meant to be
Is never to be
What might yet be is unknown
And the final words spoke by this voice in the night
Were the ones that I needed to know

There is no love without pain
There is no joy without love
There is no wisdom without ignorance
There is no light without dark

There is no wet without dry
There is no you without I
There is no place that’s too far to go
There is no lost without home

bad love

something i couldn't say to you
still you wanted to know
i'd given all i could give to you
but you wanted more
i was feeling the pressure
of a thing gone wrong
now all that is left of it
is a lonely song

i'm talkin' 'bout bad love
'talkin' 'bout the shoe about to fall
talkin' bout bad love
now you've got my back against the wall

something started that couldn't be
but we ran with the flow
i knew that i could get kicked by you
but i couldn't say no
i was feeling the pressure
of a thing gone wrong
now all that is left of it
is a lonely song

i'm talkin' 'bout bad love
'talkin' 'bout the shoe about to fall
'talkin' 'bout bad love
now you've got my back against the wall
