100% Chance of Rain
A little piece of hell on Earth
The heat and drought continues in southern Illinois...Daytime high temps have been between 95 and 101 for the last two weeks...So i thought i'd bring back something i wrote during similar weather August 15th 2 years ago...which i have re-written a little since then...
"100% Chance of Rain"
been, dry as a bone out there
the withered plants bleached in the sun
a little piece of hell on earth
kind of makes me wonder, what we've done
grapes are dying, on the vine
you got no grapes, you get no wine

I've Got A Gun
Like a lot of you i've been following the tragic story from Virginia Tech...It seems like the same story we've been hearing from other places...Somebody falls out of our world and falls into the world of the outcast...takes on the role of the avenger...pulls the trigger...and goes out in a blaze of gun fire and media glory...It is a sad story all around...Another lost soul wreaks revenge on the world that shunned him...The blame game part of the story is underway now...Should the admins at VT have done this...or done that...The rest of the story will unfold as the days go by...and as it does the familiar elements of previous events like this will fall into place...laws will be passed...lawsuits will be filed...you know the rest...But not much will really change in our world...Then someone else will be inspired by this tragic tale to take their frustrations out on the world in a similar way...then the whole series of chapters will repeat again...It's the madness of our age...everyone can take the stage...and go out in a blaze of glory on TV...i wrote a few lines of lyrics about it...i'm not proud of them...i'm not happy with them...but is all i've got to say...
